About Me

The author of the articles on this site was born in New York but raised in Tokyo. Marika now resides in Georgia; as a result, she has a mixture of the Northern wit, with Asian Culture, and a Southern soul. "Renaissance Woman" is the best term to describe her as she can work in the tech field, put together marketing strategies, pose in front of a camera and create art but her true love is a combination of creative writing, speaking in front of a camera, learning about people and researching important issues. As a result of her experiences in life and the life of others she has come to adore, RelationshipLiving.com is now created.

When I Met the Mind of a Trans Woman

When I Met the Mind of a Trans Woman And How Her Compelling Story Affected Me So I am on my phone as usual skimming through my Facebook home stream to see how everyone is doing and what interesting things people are posting.  And I look, look, look… maybe longer than I normally do (knowing I have other things to do) and then I see “I Told My Boyfriend I’m Transgender”! Woah!!! At this point I stare at the title for a while, still knowing I have...

Having a Handicap Makes You the Ultimate Hero

Having a Handicap Makes You the Ultimate Hero A Dedication to Scout Bassett Last week, I was in Michigan for training and never imagined I would have so much to write about.  The last day was the most amazing because the company invited a beautiful young lady to speak by the name of Scout Bassett. Her speech was so touching that I found myself holding back tears in that auditorium.  I was completely in awe of her speech.  Not only is she absolutely amazing but her story is even...

The Art of Transparency

The Art of Transparency When to Reveal the Real You Sometimes telling the world who you really are can be quite complicated and scary.  The complexity can come from not really knowing your whole self; therefore, how can you share it with others.  Everyone has to reveal certain parts of themselves when it’s right for them.  Sometimes though, society makes it so that we never feel comfortable nor safe “coming out”.  We all have our secrets, and I will...

Do Good to Get to Heaven?

Do Good to Get to Heaven? Or Do Good to Make this World More Like Heaven? I recently had a conversation with someone regarding heaven and hell that didn’t sit well with me.  Actually, having these kinds of conversations never go over well with me.  My ideals on this subject have progressed unconventionally and rebelled against the norm; therefore, I would only displease most traditionally religious persons. Although I consider myself Jewish, I am currently...
